Doctoral Researcher.

Alysean Banks is a Fully-Funded Doctoral Researcher (EdD) with a focus on the application of Social Psychology on Race Equality in Higher Education.

Research Focus

My research focuses on the Enhancement of Race Equality in Higher Education Institutes. It explores the impact of the Race Equality Charter as a conduit for cultural change and its’ resulting effects on staff and student attitudes toward race matters. I also investigate the practicality issues and structural facets that impede the enhancement of race equality. The aim of my research is to use Social Psychology approaches to provide evidence-based recommendations that address core challenges faced by practitioners.

Other Research Projects

In addition to my current doctoral research, I undertake other research projects around the subject of Race and Equality. This includes my research into the influence of Racism on Black Women’s perspectives of the British Health Care System.
